contains a wearable brooch in the shape of a black branch and a fragile wall object. The type of wood of the black, branch-shaped brooch is matching the leaf-shaped wall object. Heat is an important factor for the formation of both pieces. The leaf is made in a complex process where glass powder was melted on top of thin, wooden vineer. From a psychological perspective, a sense of belonging is a basic human necessity, being at the level of importance of that as food, water, and shelter. It is the emotional need to be a accepted member of a group and to be an important part of something greater than yourself. and consists out of seven wall installations. Each wall installation is composed of a brooch and a wall piece, both are visually connected through the wooden plank which gives each piece its space. Both pieces can be worn, one from the body and one from the wall. While the brooch is robust enough to be worn outside, the wall piece, fragile as it is, stays behind and is carried outside in the mind of the beholder The work is the result of a long material study in which I investigated the corelation between wood, aluminium and glass with the addition of heat. They ensure that someone has been here before. That it is save to walk here. That this is the way back. We once arose from nature, what‘s left is an inner force which still makes us drawn to it. Unfortunately, we don‘t know anymore how to feel convident in nature. We are insecure. I wonder if the path will lead back to nature or if we are stuck in culture.
